Who are we?

We are Matt Talbot Group 97. Our membership is comprised of recovering alcoholic men primarily from the New Jersey /New York area who are interested in enhancing their recovery through improvement of their spiritual life and relationship with "God as they understand him".

What are we and what is our purpose?

Matt Talbot Group 97 is a member of the Matt Talbot Retreat Movement. Although we are affiliated with our parent organization , Group 97  is autonomous, self-supporting and self governed. The group is run by it's membership and it's officers are but trusted servants.

The purpose of Group 97 is to conduct two retreats per year for our membership .

Where do we retreat?

Since the beginning, this group has met and retreated at the Mount St. Alphonsus retreat center in Esopus, NY.

When do you retreat?

We conduct two retreats per year. These retreats are held within the first half January and the first half of August.

Why retreat with Matt Talbot 97?

Many of our membership believe we have been given a second chance at our lives by God. We retreat because it is an opportunity to spend time with old friends, make new friends and to improve our conscious contact with He who gave us this new life.
